Situated 120 km north of Kathmandu, Rasuwa District is bounded by Sindhupalchowk, Nuwakot and Dhading districts on east, south and west respectively. The total area of Rasuwa is1,544 square kilometer. It has18 VDCs, of which 11 lies in the Langtang National Park and Buffer Zone area. The new tourism route involves 9 VDCs namely, Thuman, Briddim, Gatlung, Goljung, Langtang, Syabrubesi, Dhunche and Chilime. Its attraction is the rich Tamang-Tibetan culture. Though majority of the population are Tmanags, but other ethnic groups like Bahuns, Ghales,etc are also available here. Historical places like Rasuwagadi, religious attractions like Tatopani, Parbati Kunda, and the first nationally invested Chilime Hydroelectric Project are the additional features of this new route. The route ranges from 1467m attitude to 3165m and has variety of tropical, subtropical, temperate and sub alpine vegetations.
